Local Music February: Dead Unicorn
Dead Unicorn may not be local to all y’all standards but their two-piece apocalyptic drones resound here at home even if they are from Kingston, New York- a 1.5 hour trek North. The duo set out on an ambitious effort to release 7 studio albums focusing on various global disasters in 2005. Their sophomore endeavor “Global Thermonuclear War” relentlessly strikes the listener with a one-two punch of bass ‘n drums and a fair share of toxic melodies and pestilent lyrics exploring the idea of well…a global thermonuclear war. Definitely download this if you’re into Death From Above 1979, really good bass tone, Fugazi, Sabbath, and of course, “songs of survival and annihilation.” Dead Unicorn already have sights on their next album with a theme of biological apocalypse. Click readmore for the free download link of Global Thermonuclear War and a music video of the track “Last Call.” In the meantime, sit tight as we try to bring these guys to Jersey.
